Lawned garden with terrace and garden furniture. 2 small/medium dogs welcome, to be kept on lead at all times (working farm). Stabling for horses. Bike store. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking. Please note: There are slopes and an unfenced stream in the garden, 55 yards away.. Craigrobin is a traditional detached Galloway cottage, beautifully decorated and situated in a rural location amidst 225 acres of the owner’s farm. Set in a glorious garden with a stream running through, and accessed by a private tree lined driveway, the cottage has panoramic views over unspoilt landscapes to the Rhinns of Kells. Whilst you may want to just sit down and take in the views, you are welcome to visit the owner’s farm where there are rabbits, lambs, ponies, llamas, peacocks and ducks. The farm also has two duck ponds, trout ponds and several breeding pairs of red kites. Horse ‘Bed and Breakfast’ is available if you wish to bring along your horse. What better way to enjoy this stunning location than on horseback!
If you can bear to tear yourselves away from Craigrobin, the cottage has easy access to everything this lovely county has to offer, from historical sites and mountain biking, to challenging hill walks and some of the darkest night skies in the world, not to mention over 200 miles of stunning and dramatic coastline with secluded bays and sandy beaches. Just 4 miles down the road, Loch Ken and the Galloway Activity Centre offers windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing and power boating. Or why not try your hand at archery and quad biking if you prefer dry land? A visit to Castle Douglas cannot be missed. Known as the ‘Food Town’, there are many niche shops, cafés and restaurants. Visit Threave Gardens and Estate or take a trip across to Threave Castle by rowing boat! Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
