Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The Cottage was comfortable and had the necessary kitchen items to allow us to cook most of our meals at home, which we prefer. We enjoyed the location as we were spending time in the Lake District during the day and could drive to most of the places we wanted to see in less than an hour. No issues with heating and the location was very quiet. We ended up driving to Penrith for groceries (20 min drive) in order to have a little more selection.

Negative: There were a few things that could have been better. The main issue was it was almost impossible to get in touch with the hosts. I tried messaging on Booking.com several times, then I called and texted and it took over a month to finally get a hold of someone which was after we had already checked in. Quite a frustrating experience and I honestly wasn't sure what else to do since there was no other communication options. In addition, the book with wifi instructions and information about the house was in a drawer and took us a while to find it. Lastly, there were not enough tools for cleaning and we had a hard time getting the pans clean after using them. We did our best, but would have been much easier if we had a scrub sponge.
