The Space:
This value original Craftsman cottage on the corner of Balboa and 30th Street was built in 1923 and has been charming visitors ever since! One block from the beach and walking distance to the Newport Pier, shops, eateries and groceries, you won't have to move the car once you park (except for the street sweeper).
The vintage and rustic cottage has original hardwood floors throughout. The living room is airy and comfortable and has a sleeper sofa for an extra guest. The dining room has a beautiful hardwood table that seats 6. The kitchen has a dual sink, oven, stove top, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator and cute breakfast nook with built-in seating. The home does not have a washer or dryer, but the local laundromat is just across the street. This home is original from the 30's with no frills or updates but priced for location to the beach.
Bedrooms are compact, as the home was built to serve as a beach house getaway back in the day. The first bedroom has a queen bed, the second has two twins. There are two full bathrooms, one with a walk-in shower and the other with a tub-shower combination.
The sun room is the perfect spot to curl up with a good book. The front patio has a table that seats four and a charcoal BBQ, great for grilling up family favorites.
The garage is used to store bikes, surfboards and other beach gear. One parking space is available on Balboa Boulevard parallel to the garage door (except during street sweeping).
The location below the 28th St Jetty is convenient for exploring the area on foot or by bicycle. The Newport Pier is a quick stroll away with shops and local eateries galore. The grocery store is a quick trip away at 32nd St with more shops and restaurants. The newly renovated Lido Marina Village with its high-end restaurants and boutiques is a few minutes beyond. You can rent an electric boat to tool around the harbor or enjoy a meal with bay views.
