For a change of pace, Buxton (6 miles) is home to gorgeous ornamental gardens, the famous Crescent, Thermal Spa and Opera House, and the impressive limestone chambers of Poole’s Cavern. Market town Bakewell (10 miles) – birthplace of the famous pudding – is another must-see, while historic houses Chatsworth House (13.5 miles) and Haddon Hall (11.5 miles) are both set within stunning grounds
