The forests around are full of interesting wildlife from red squirrels, crested tits, crossbills and capercaillie. Loch Morlich (15 miles) offers a beautiful beach and stunning walks around Rothiemurchus as well as stunning views of the Cairngorm Mountain range. It also has a water sports centre, offering sailing, canoeing, paddleboarding and windsurfing. Enjoy a day following the Malt Whisky Trail from Grantown through to Aberlour.
