In a small development accessed through the golf course, Bainloch Lodge is quietly secluded, yet perfectly situated for exploring the beautiful Galloway countryside. From the secluded enclosed verandah sit and relax for hours on end seeing nothing more than the wildlife including red squirrels, or stroll to the beach to explore the rugged coastline. The area surrounding Bainloch Lodge is a delight with something to suit all, with an abundance of walks available, from scenic coastal walks to forest trails. With sailing, swimming, horse riding, fishing, golf, boat trips and water sports close by, there is sure to be something for everyone. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, there are many beautiful gardens to visit, including Threave Gardens (National Trust) at Castle Douglas and further afield, the world-renowned Logan Botanic Gardens. Close to the Galloway Forest Park, home to the first Dark Sky Park in the UK, and central to 5 of the 7Stanes, it is a popular location for cyclists and mountain bikers. Take a short drive along the coast to Kippford, a charming sailing village which has 2 pubs on the waterfront. Beach ½ mile. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
